Abstract

Purpose: This study intended to understand the change of recognition according to health insurance benefit criteria training for the nurses of a cancer hospital.

Method: Data was collected from July 25 to Sep. 11, 2008. This study was performed against 61 nurses working for a tumor
ward in cancer hospital located in Chonnam. The researchers of this study developed the questionnaires based on related literatures, a pamphlet of health insurance benefits, notices of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Family. The questionnaire had total 25 questions and its internal reliability was Cronbach's ¥á= .968. Data were statistically analyzed using SPSS 15.0 program.

Result: The subjects' recognition level of health insurance benefit criteria after training was increased statistically significantly. Although the subjects' recognition levels of health insurance benefit criteria after training in the both groups were increased statistically significantly as 89.9 points in the direct face-to-face training group and 86.9 points in the groupware training group respectively, there was no significant difference between the direct face-to-face training group and the groupware training group.
